Don't Take Any Chances For Peace
of Mind, Make sure you do a title search or let United Financial Services do it
for you! If you purchase a second hand car privately and
it has money owing on it to a financial institution or is stolen, the car may
be repossessed or impounded. To avoid this happening to
you, you can call one of the Government-operated registers of encumbered motor
vehicles which can tell you over the phone if the car you're looking to buy has
money owing on it, is stolen or has been de-registered due to unpaid traffic fines. What
You Need To Do - Check
that the vehicle's Registration Number, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or
chassis number and Engine Number direct from the vehicle.
- Confirm
these numbers match the ones on the Registration Papers.
- Contact
the appropriate Vehicle Register* in your state and provide these numbers. The
relevant contact details are provided below.
- Buy
a search certificate to confirm these details.
